Bitcoin at $10K. OK... what now?

You ever get that feeling when you finish a binge-watch of a TV series that you just couldn't stop watching, and then, suddenly, when the series is over, it feels like there's nothing to watch? It all feels kind of anticlimactic, doesn't it?

I've been feeling that way about Bitcoin today. $10K was a lofty, distant goal in most cryptocurrency investors' minds and now, suddenly, it's here. Something about it just feels a little like an ending of something.

Maybe it's an end to the "anti-establishment", come-uppin' under-dog image of Bitcoin. This is the big time now. Bitcoin is no longer the rebellious upstart. We are firmly in institutional territory here.

Maybe it's the "fear of success" - irrational, it may be, but it is a common fear nonetheless. What happens if Bitcoin really is successful and just becomes an accepted, mainstream thing? It sort of takes away from the coolness of it, in a sense. It's like when your parents started doing something that used to be cool -- at that point -- whatever it was, was immediately not cool.

So, where do we go from here? I'm comforted knowing there is still something very cool about Bitcoin, and cryptocurrency in general. It is transformational. It will change the world. It will change the way people exchange knowledge and value. So much innovation is yet to come.

And there still is a long way to go before this is truly "mainstream". This paradigm shift will take some time.

It still is quite a wild ride. With all the innovations, even just to Bitcoin alone, on the way, I feel like there is still a lot to watch and enjoy here. This should continue to be entertaining for quite some time.
