WHY YOU SHOULD STOP USING BITCOIN

in bitcoin •  8 years ago

1. Just imagine in a modern world you want to buy an iPhone let's say, via bitcoin. Do you want to get it immediately? Really?

NO

You wait! Don't you believe in Bitcoin?? All other coins are just shit! Bitcoin is our digital gold, our precious and valuable asset! You want to get your iPhone immediately, what if you wait for your f*cking 3 confirmations? NO, we don't want BU, we don't want SegWit, we are the miners and we do want LARGER AND LARGER fees!

2. Hey, we are a new restaurant and we offer you the prices in Bitcoin. Yes, you can give Bitcoin to us and we serve you. Okay, you want a cheeseburger and a coke? Okay, it would be approximately ZERO POINT ZERO ZERO ZERO FIVE oh yes, it's not convenient to pronounce it, to count it, BUT don't you believe in Bitcoin? Are you a traitor?

3. Hey, I'm new to blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies, should I read more and invest in Ethereum or Ripple, for example?

NO

Well, probably yes. But just for pump and dump, who cares about technologies, smart contracts, decentralised exchanges and internet of things? You should pour 50 percent of your money into Bitcoin! Just because it is a first cryptocurrency ever! Don't ask!

4. Forget about Bitcoin! It's old-fashioned! The world and technologies are developing at incredible speed, Bitcoin now is like iPhone 4, it still looks good but slow as hell. Analyse the sphere, see further,

Bitcoin isn't everything. Blockchain is everything. And it is really diverse.

Re-read my post. If you still don't understand my point, probably it is you, who hasn't understood much. Lol

Was your OP sarcastic? No, looks it wasn't, judging from your other posts. No, you don't understand Bitcoin enough yet to make a judgement. First lesson: Other/new/"better" features come with tradeoffs. Second: Study the history of TCP/IP. Then draw your conclusions.

I think you are in denial of the reality. Bitcoin is a performance disaster and only keeps getting money because it was the first, but not because it can perform any useful purpose now other than as a store of value for people that are afraid to store their value elsewhere. Thank you a lot for the support! The guy is really deluded. Your words are true in every aspect

I call my arguments: it is slow, it doesn't have new features, such as smart contracts, it is very expensive so it isn't convenient for the price tags (yes, the devil is in details). Call your arguments! TCP IP is not an argument, try the other

I gotta admit, your sarcasm was a bit hard to read.
But I do quite agree. Bitcoin feels old and outdated. It feels obsolete.

Sure, it still works, but so does Windows 95.

Even Ethereum and Steem are getting older and looking more primitive.
I think some of us are still looking for "The Big One".

Or maybe it's better to decentralize. Why must Bitcoin die for other coins to have value? As it is, they do have value. It's easy to convert just about any cryptocurrency to any other cryptocurrency, so there's really no reason to think that we need a centralized "One Coin To Rule Them All" coin.

We just need more coins, some that do everything, and some that focus on just one or two things, but more coins is better. Computers don't mind the chaos. They just process data. The only necessary component is being able to buy and spend easily and freely.

Nope.
