So, AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950x and 1920x are HERE!
And already reviewers around the world state that the new 16 cores 32 threads and 12 cores and 24 threads CPUs are intel killers. Lower power usage, cooler temperatures under loads, and almost 50% cheaper!
But cheaper than intel's, but still expensive. It's like Rp 25 000 000 (US$ 1850) for cpu and motherboard only

It's more expensive than the total cost of my current rig.
Add RAM, SDD, HDD, PSU, casing, and GPU, it's another Rp 15 000 000 or more (around US$ 1000-1200).
So it is indeed an HIGH END Enthusiast Desktop
Still wishing I can have a system like that though...It simply feel right. It offers 32 threads and ability to use FOUR GPUs in a motherboard without risers, at once, running at 8x/16x each.
Imagine the mining power of such system.
Ryzen R7 1700 using 8 threads can give around U$0.6 - US$0.8 a day, so a 16 threads Threadripper can give us US$ 1.2-1.6 a day.
Add four RX VEGA 64 and its rumored hashing capability of 70 MHS, that's like US$5/day for each! Four of them can give US$ 20/day!
And with that, this is the estimate of how much you can get ouf ot such system, courtesy of whattomine

break even in a year!
Crazy, huh?
So what do you think?
Barclays analyst Blayne Curtis needs to be fired for saying that AMD's data center and CPU chips don't stack up well against Intel and Nvidia's offerings, and furthermore for saying that "By our math, it is already unprofitable to purchase a GPU at retail price for Ethereum mining let alone the 1.5-2x they are selling for," Curtis said.
Yeah, fire him for being clueless, Barclay

I am angry with this pessimistic outlook of mine. A threadripper is now known to be able to hash around 1200 h/s, which is roughly equals to US$ 2 per day mining cryptonight algos.
and Vega can do Cryptonight algo at 2000 h/s each which translates to 4 US$ per day.
So a TR with four Vega can do around 9200 h/s which translates to around US$ 18 per day.
That kind of system requires close to 1200 watt of powers which cost around US$ 3.5 per day (at 12 cents per kwh).
Now if only I can get four dual slot custom cooler Vega 56
