The Crypto-Agnostic: Transactions Down: If you do not buy things with it, it is not a Currency

I am not a crypto-cynic but I remain very much an agnostic. I have invested in crypto currency but I believe it very possible that I will lose most or all of this money. I hope that Bitcoin will break the near monopoly government has on currency, but I am realistic about the ability of anyone challenging government power in this day and age.
So the news that the number of transaction with Bitcoin is actually decreasing is troubling. I have yet to see a convincing argument that Bitcoin is a “store of value”. Some appear to be holding Bitcoin as a “nest egg”. What if the nest is empty?
If it not seen to present an advantage in making “transactions”,485D7BFC-6A0B-492E-9757-AE776793B9EE.jpeg what does it do ?
