No that's too low! Gold Market Cap is 7Trill Plus Bitcoin has aspects of gold plus utility that no other currency has.. Bitcoin as well as a handful of crypto ledgers will indeed be the future of moeny. I see 1 Tril Market cap in 2018 and 12 Trillion by 2028. At 1 Trillion bitcoin $48,000 However 10% could leak into other alt coins offering niches so lets just say $45,000.

Well - the article obviously has been written with BTC being @ $440-something. That is of course a tad pole to $10k. BTC being now over $1k and almost 2 years left until end of 2018, $10k doesn't seem completely off the scale anymore.

I think the market is still volatile, it'll be 2014 all over again for some segments of the crypto market. But as the world moves more towards it, it should regain its strength and 2020-2024 I think BTC will eventually hit 10k and 2028 it should be around $20k. It's all about the longterm. None of the emotional buying and selling currently associated with the market. I'm going longterm on my cryptos including BTC despite of the current swings.

We're on track for 10K in 2018 for sure. My guess is by March or April. But we will see a few corrections and resistance on that path. We may have already been there by now had it not been for hundreds of alt coins showing up on the market taking $ away from investments in Bitcoin.

The price in 2018 will be impossible to predict.... to many variables in this equation....
At this time Bitcoin is not understood by the masses. And to invest or to purchase has not become main stream. Most people are to ignorant to care.... And the rest can not be bothered...
At this stage certain people are buying holding and accumulating and these people alone are keeping this alive and the market value at the level it is... so I would boldly state, certain people know the true value of this, being invaluable. Others will slowly get on board in much later stages....
Like anything valuable, why would this be open to the mass' easily. .. I can imagine some big players are buying extremely large amounts during this mining cycle...
And when the creation rate dwindles or mined coins halve, it will be pushed further into society. So of course there will be incredibly gains in price, but it will be covered up and kept in the dark until the next halving in 2020. Then we will see how invaluable this will become. ..
People don't use encyclopedias any longer, we use Wikipedia. And Bitcoin is the replacement of gold....

Edit: 25 Oct 2017: Now at $5500. Was $6200 per BTC few weeks ago. Still 2 months to go for 2018.
