BITCOIN could seen be used by bosses to pay employees as one firm confirms it will be offering the cryptocurrency as a salary option next year.
Japanese firm GMO Group will be offering its 4,000 employees the option to receive a portion of their salary in bitcoin from early 2018.
The digital currency would be paid in to an account at an agreed date and time when the employee knows of its value.
If the bitcoin price was $10,000 and an employee desired to receive $1,000 worth of the cryptocurrency in their pay packet, then they would receive 0.1 of bitcoin.
And if employees do decide to take the company up on its offer, they may be forced to deal with a loss as well as a gain due to the current volatility of bitcoin
