Innovation Brought Us Bitcoin With A Gift: The Blockchain
When Satoshi Nakamoto invented the blockchain his intent was to create a new currency, Bitcoin. He wanted it to be decentralized and controlled by the public, allowing anyone with a computer to access the blockchain and view all transactions, and help keep the blockchain updated.
Some say that Bitcoin and other crypto currencies will never become anything more than something to invest in, like gold. They also have said that bitcoin would never gain the acceptance that it has. Wal-Mart, Dish Network, Reddit and many others accept bitcoin payments for their products and services every day!
10 years later and.....
Here we are 10 years later and the blockchain has evolved to being used for storing data for big corporations and allowing them to make payments via private blockchains. Private blockchains are becoming a trend in 2018. Quorum has been able to cross over to some extent by being able to access both public and private blockchains.
With this new trend we are seeing the birth of innovation for many uses involving blockchain technolgy. This innovation, I believe, is helping to make crypto currencies more widely accepted.
Although the blockchain was designed to be public, we are seeing that it can be adapted for many uses both private and public. I have seen it being used for news publication, blogging, data storage, secure and private payment processing....I can not wait to see how this technology will evolve in another 10 years!
