bitconnect. I lost 0.3 ($1200) bitcoins in its final seconds of existing by being stupid and greedy

in bitconnect •  7 years ago

I am an idiot

I knew this was a ponzi scheme months ago and got out with a nice little profit

Then like a greedy idiot I put 0.3 bitcoins into this out of pure greed minutes before it went belly up. When the price started crashing and i thought oh it will be a bug in the buying robot if i get in quick i can make a quick buck and get out.

little did i know this was the actual exit of the ponzi scam. I reckon this was one of the last deposits before it went down

you can can see my money going in and getting emptied out 5 hours later. I bet they were laughing at that one

I knew this was a dodgy ponzi scheme months ago but i still managed to make some bitcoin out of it and get out 2 months ago. I then watched it continue to go up and up and thought what the hell it looks like they want to become billionaires before pulling the plug but my guess is they couldn't keep it going with the bitcoin price surge

Sorry anyone else out there who got scammed but its all over now. I just hope the jakarta police go really hard on the little bastards when they catch them.

I can only hope like me you have learned the oldest lesson. IF ITS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT IS. I am getting that printed on my enter key on every computer i bye from now on.

oh and one more thing enjoy this video of the little shits using your money to party hard

nice video with nice asian girls dancing !

I think it's a little premature to make these claims. Why don't you give it a few hours to see what happened? If the site was hacked, they have the right to take it down and recover. If it is a scam, then they're horrible, but it's too early to tell, right??

Agree steemmatt, and if he KNEW it is Ponzi scheme why the hell he entered this system. I really don´t like this attitude : 1)he makes a decisions based on his research 2)his research shows that this is Ponzi scheme 3) he still invest the money -4)he lose the money in the Ponzi scheme 5)he come whimper around the space that he has been robbed. Sorry but this is so funny to me. I have my money in bitconnect too and this behavior is childish.

Thanks. Nothing is confirmed, but we're sure to find out soon to make a fair and rational assessment. If it does implode, everyone knows what they were getting in to. That's why I only played with a reasonable amount of profit I didn't care at all if I lost. It was fun and good experience I'll carry with me either way. Orrrr, the site is fine and there was a glitch, huge customer selloff, hack, or crash, etc, and it'll be back to business as usual in a reasonable amount of time. I just went through Genesis' hack/recovery, and it's a good opportunity for a company to prove themselves during times of duress to grow stronger (or collapse). Time and patience will tell!

very nice ...

what !!!!!!!! it shut down not opening ??

Hey Paul, sorry to hear about your misfortune. You need to be really careful in the crypto space there are too many bad actors and not enough regulation and enforcement to prevent it

Thanks unbeaten . your right but if it wasn't unregulated i wouldn't be having as much fun as I have the last few years. I put this down to battle scars in crypto. I think everyone will get some along the way

Yeah that's true. I decided to have a go at trading a couple of months ago and lost a ton of IOTA. I don't have the eye for trading and just buy and hold now haha

I feel for you i think a lot of people will be in the same boat now, loads of people knew it was a scam and still put money in. Stay strong and invest wisely and you will claw your money back. 👍

It's not a scam...you're overreacting. good grief. They were attacked last night.

ok maybe i overreacted I was a bit upset this morning. It looks like they are making efforts to come back. I am still waiting to see if i get my btc back or not

UPDATE
I am very pleased to say I got my bitcoin back (29th August) after several fraught days. I am putting this one down a genuine problem at bitconnect which they have fixed and honoured peoples money.

Do I trust them? I am afraid they have serious issues in the support department but at least they seem to be honest. I will be putting my money elsewhere for now
