The advantages and disadvantages of Bitgesell

in bitgesell •  4 years ago

BGL is an experimental digital currency that allows instant payments to anyone, anywhere in the world. BGL uses peer-to-peer technology to operate without centralized management: transactions are managed and dispensed by the network collectively. BGL Core is the name of the open source software that allows this currency to be used.Bitgesell is a young blockchain project started in April this year by Emma Wu. Its codebase is borrowed from Bitcoin.

It has some differences in some aspects. Bitgesell has learned from the mistakes and challenges that Bitcoin and other PoW networks went through in their early years. Its main goals at launch were to create an asset that will continue to grow in value through some changes to the internal asset model.
Those are the advantages and disadvantages of Bitcoin that I can explain to you. And this time I will introduce you to a project that also has almost the same technology as Bitcoin. But this project can be said to be a refinement of Bitcoin technology.

What Are The similarities ,Differences Between Bitgesell & Bitcoin?

As a platform that has almost the same concept as Bitcoin, Bitgesell has several similarities and differences, including:
Bitgesell And Bitcoin Equations,
√ Total Circulating Coin Supply Is 21 million,
√ Have Same Coding Base,
Differences Bitgesell And Bitcoin,
√ Accelerated Halving,
If Bitcoin takes 4 years to explode in price, while Bitgesell only takes about 1 year,
Bitgesell will burn up to 90% transaction fees. This will cause a decrease in the value of the supply of circulating tokens, so it is certain that the price of Bitgesell tokens will increase, while Bitcoin does not.
Those are some similarities and differences between Bitgesell and Bitcoin that you can take into consideration. What do you think ?

How to run your own Bitgesell node (in less than 5 minutes)
Honestly… It's really easy and you don't need a monster computer to run it. In this article we will walk you through 6 easy steps to get your node up and running in less than 5 minutes. This guide is for Windows installation. We'll be covering a guide for Mac OS X in the near future as well. Looking for Linux installation guide
Additional information:
As we said earlier, the node client is lightweight and requires very few resources. To put it in the numbers, we recommend a PC with these minimum requirements:
512Mb RAM
1-core 2.0GHz CPU
1Gb of free space should be enough for now (for blockchain)
Clients use less than 1% of memory and processing power on an average computer.
But hey, you want to participate in the node incentive program to get free BGL, right? :-) Then complete the steps below to get yours sorted.
Make sure to have a BGL address close to you. It will start with "1bgl...".
Step 1
In BGL Core main screen click:
Settings → Options → Open Configuration File
→ Remove "" and just add the wallet address you want to link to your node client (where you want to win free BGL :-p Close the BGL Core agent completely and restart it. Don't just use X as it will minimize. In the menu click "File" → "Exit".
Step 5
Restart your BGL Core node agent. Click "Window" → "Information".
Under "General" and "User Agent" you will see : /Satoshi:0.1.3(your own BGL address)
