My name is Theo Chino and I am a loud bitcoiner !

Hello,

My name is Theo Chino and I run the website Abolish the Bitlicense. I live in New York City and I have a small bitcoin processing business.

I started a lawsuit against the New York Department of Financial Service in 2015 on the constitutionality of the bitlicense because Bitcoin is not Money; it's an Intangible Commodity.

My lawyer explains how NYDFS acted arbitrarily and inappropriately in this 15 minutes video in front of the New York BitDev crew.

Everything about that lawsuit is explained on Article 78 Against NYDFS website.

For the past two years I documented everything about the bitcoin law on my Abolish The Bitlicense website.

I see how politicians that don’t understand the technology and are creating an environment that will land bitcoiner in jail regardless of their intent.

I got reacquainted with the fourth amendment and its implication, with the real meaning of privacy and why it’s important, I saw how a hasty reading of a dictionary entry coupled with misunderstanding create bad precedent.

The number of social topics that can emanate from bitcoin are mind boggling. My goal is to try to bring the various parties to the table. I believe bitcoin has the ability to create a new political foundation by allowing in a peaceful manner to collectively explore and question morality using mathematics. The facts don't lie.

The goal of this series of blogpost is to show bitcoiners that in order to have an impact we need to show up at the discussion table.

The lawmakers don’t know us because they think that we are either libertarians or cypherpunks. Some of us are but that doesn't suppress our voice as their learned in Nebraska.

If we don't show up, the only voice they will hear is that of wall street.

I am an elected member of the Democratic Party county committee and I used to be a member of my local Community Board.

I hope that you will find value in my stories and that you will not be left out wherever you are when a bitcoin/blockchain discussion happens where you live.

I am doing my best to keep track the raw data from the Legislatures and the Court but I do need help and for that purpose I have setup a GitHub at https://github.com/theochino/AbolishTheBitlicense so we can collaborate !

Join me in defeating the Uniform Law Commission Bitlicense and the New York Bitlicense.
