I am loving the Bitshares DEX more and more. If there was a way for it to offer decentralized margin trading and lending like Poloniex and Bitfinex, everyone in the world would move to it, including China. I would immediately become a lifetime member. Is there a reason this can't be done?

    you can do margin trading on bitshares dex
    Just borrow bitUSD or bitCNY with your BTS :)
    You can borrow with %0 interest rate and it is backed %200 with your BTS and %100 secure
