Hey fellow Steemians,
first of all: I'm an idiot.
before Christmas I did a transaction for my girlfriend in order to transfer Steem from her account onto my Bittrex account in order to cash it out as she's even newer to the whole cryptocoin-stuff than I am.
So far so good.... I trans did the transfer and was wondering why it took so long.... My past transfers have been done within minutes, so I waited.... and waited.... and waited... after 16 Hours of waiting, just before leaving into Christmas holiday I opened a ticket for them to check the issue.
After a day I finally noticed that I'm the biggest moron on earth.
I transferred STEEM to the @bittrex account BUT using my SBD transaction code.
Okay... checking the Bittrex Crosschain Recover Policy. Okay, seems not to be so uncommon that this kind of mistake happens. Then I closed one ticket, opened another on and waited again.... and that's where I am now.
The only thing that happened was an automatic mail, telling me that...
Due to an unprecedented amount of growth in a relatively short amount of time we're experiencing a longer than usual wait time responding to and resolving your requests.
Asking me to respond if the ticket still is necessary.
After some Google-fu research seems that this kind of support or let's say the lack of it is a thing since October now. For one of the most frequented crypto-coin Trading Sites I find this not only extremely unsatisfactory but also unacceptable.
In my opinion this issue is one of the fast to solve ones as I have sent screenshots to prove this request valid and they just have to reroute the transfer to the right transfer ID...
Has anyone of you any experience how long these issues take to be solved nowadays or maybe the same issue? Any Idea how to speedup the Process?
It's a real pity that after I did this Mistake the Cryptomarket crashed so badly and we were losing hard cash because of this but well... you can't change the past :-/
Cheers
@mrweirdowski
Has anyone of you had the same (or similar) issue
Most of the crypto exchanges right now are a complete shitshow... I hope they get their shit together sooner then later as the major rush of new users hasn't even started yet and they are already over capacity as it is...

Left an upvote for you, sadly i can not do much more. The dumb thing is that @budz82 is completely right by saying that all exchanges are shit ...
Kind regards
Jan

Hmm, that's a sad story, particularly before the holidays. At least I give you an upvote.
I don't have the same experience, but something similar at Bitfinex. About half a year ago, I had sent 1 ETH from a Lykke Wallet to Bitfinex account. It didn't arrive and I did the same like you did, I waited a long time and opened a ticket. The ticket was open for something like 2 weeks and then I received one sentence saying that they can't allocate funds from a smart wallet. It appeared that Lykke wallet is a smart wallet and can't find its way to Bitfinex wallets and therefore my ETH got lost and never recovered. They waive all responsibility, because it was my own mistake. Now, Bitfinex and Lykke are warning from both sides, but at that time it wasn't the case.
So at least I learned to be prepared for the unexpected in the future.
I hope your recovery will go better. Is it a lot of Steem?

Thanks mate, it's not a lot compared to the high amounts which are handled around here nor as high as the amount you lost but much more than I transferred to bittrex.
I'm sorry for your loss as well so here's a tiny minnowy up vote which is more like a gesture than a help at my level of SP. 😄
