بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Reading these duas taught to us by our beloved messenger (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) will not only protect you from jinns that are outside our bodies (external jinns) but also protect you from jinns that are already inside (internal jinns). This is because the internal jinns are weakening and prevented from harming you.
- Protective Dua

Transliteration:
"Bismilla hil lazhi laa ya durru maA ismihi shay un fil ardi walaa fi sama wa huwas samee ul Aaleem"
Translation:
(In the name of Allah; with His name, nothing whatsoever on earth or heaven can inflict any harm; He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.)
Method
Three times after Fajr and Maghrib salah
Hadith
Uthman (R.A.) reported that Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W.) has said that (nothing will harm) the servant who recites these words three times every morning and evening.

Transliteration:
"La illaha ilAllahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul Mulku, wa lahul Hamdu, yuhyee wayu meethu, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in Qadeer"
Translation:
(There is no deity but Allah alone. He has no Partner. Sovereignty and Praise and Thanks are Him, The Giver of Life and Death and He has Power over all things)
Method
One hundred times after Fajr and Maghrib salah (or ten times mentioned in another hadith)
Hadith
It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“Whoever says “Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahu’l-mulk wa lahu’l-hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer” one hundred times in the day, will have a reward equivalent to that of freeing ten slaves, one hundred hasanahs (good deeds) will be recorded for him, and one hundred sayi’ahs (bad deeds) will be erased from his record, and it will be protection for him from the Shaytaan for that day, until evening comes. No one could achieve any better than him except the one who does more than he did.”
(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 31119; Muslim, 2691)
EFFECT
It physically creates an invisible "force field" around you so that even if jinns wanted to harm you in anyway they won't be able get pass this "force field". I think this force field is actually an angel which even the jinns cannot see.
I know this because on many occasions during ruqya the person who is possessed was less than a meter away from me. They get very angry and want to hit me but they can't I asked them why they can't hit me and they say "there is something stopping us".
I have also heard something very similar from Shaykh Waleed Basyouni.
- Sleeping/ Resting dua
Among the saheeh du’aa’s for refuge that have been narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) are:
Picture
Transliteration
“A’oodhu bi kalima tillah hith thamma, min sharri maa khalaq"
Translation
(I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allaah from the evil of that which He has created).”
(Narrated by Muslim, al-Dhikr wa’l-Du’aa, 4881)
Method
Three times after Fajr and Maghrib prayer
EFFECT
The prophet said who ever rests in a place, sleeps or sits and reads this dua nothing can harm him, no jinn or poisonous animal etc. As long as he stays there and does not move from that place.
- You can read this dua to protect yourself and stop shaytan from giving you waswasah in salah.

[Saheeh Abu Daawood’ no. 701]
Method
Read once before you begin to pray
EFFECT
As long as you are sitting or standing in one place no jinn can harm you.
- Ayat al-Kursi

Translation
[Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither slumber, nor sleep overtake Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.]
Method
Read aloud at every night before going to sleep and every morning in your home with the intention of protection.
EFFECT
Recite Ayat al-Kursi when you go to bed, and no shaytaan would come near you until morning, and Allah would appoint a guard (angel) for you who would stay with you all night until morning. Then read it again in the morning.

Translation
[The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], "We make no distinction between any of His messengers." And they say, "We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination."
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people."]
Method
Read aloud at every night before going to sleep and every morning in your home with the intention of protection.
Hadith
It was narrated that Abu Mas’ood al-Ansaari said:“The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
‘Whoever recites the last two verses of Surah Baqarah at night, that will suffice him. (as a protection)’”
(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 4723; Muslim, 807)
- Reciting al-Mi’wadhatayn (the last two Soorahs of the Qur’aan, al-Falaq and al-Naas).

Translation
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak
From the evil of that which He created
And from the evil of darkness when it settles
And from the evil of the blowers in knots
And from the evil of an envier when he envies."
b) Surah An-Naas

Min Sharri Al-Waswāsi Al-Khannāsi

Mina Al-Jinnati Wa An-Nāsi
Translation
Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,
The King of mankind,
The god of mankind,
From the evil of the sneaking whisperer,
Who whispereth in the hearts of mankind,
Of the jinn and of mankind.
Method
Hold you palms of the your hands together then repeat them three times each, then dry-spit in the palm of both hand and starting from the face, rub all the way down, over your chest and arms, down to your legs and feet- only the front of the body.
Hadith
It was narrated that Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:
“The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to seek refuge with Allaah from the jinn and from the evil eye until the Mi’wadhatayn were revealed, and when they were revealed he started to recite them and not anything else.”
EFFECT
This is a very useful method of protection as it not only protects the body from external jinn it also protects from internal jinn.
This protection method is very useful if a person is suffering from nightmares. Sisters who are suffering from sexual abuse from jinn should also read this dua, whether the abuse is committed by the internal or external jinn by wiping over themselves it forms a protective barrier that cannot be crossed by jinn.
