According to historical evidence, "Black Friday" has its origin in the United States and there are several chapters in history to which this term is associated.
One of them is 1869, when there was a strong economic crisis caused by the rise in the price of gold and the consequent collapse of market prices. This fact is attributed to two Wall Street financiers, Jay Gould and Jim Fisk.
The other event takes place in several cities in the North American country in the 1960s and 1970s. It came the day after Thanksgiving, when merchants offered deep discounts to encourage pre-Christmas shopping.
In business they went from having the accounting records in red (indicating losses) to black (meaning profits).
