Since Blaire White, who really is somebody who everybody should listen to, just found out that the clinic that provided her transition procedures is now performing top surgery on children as young as twelve who think they might be trans, we've gotta address a real issue.
I know that this issue is touchier than a Catholic summer camp; but, real irreversible damage is being done due to persistent misinformation.
Leftists love to pride themselves on being champions of science literally to the point of shaming the rest of us for ever tempering our respect for science with certain philosophical beliefs and moral values. Still, leftists want to be allies and that's lead them to make claims about medicine and biology that range from true but not as true as they're claiming to absolutely false. Usually this comes down to claims that procedures done now can always be undone.
One common claim made by leftists which doesn't have anything to do with trans people and I hope doesn't have anything to do with kids is that men can always get a vasectomy reversed. That's technically true. What's false is the impression given that getting it reversed is as cheap and easy as having it done - that's not close to being true. A vasectomy can cost about $100 and be done very quickly. Reversing a vasectomy and having it done correctly will cost about $8,700 or more depending on the complexity of the surgery. It can take up to a year for men to regain fertility. Also, and this will be a common theme, time is a factor. The more time that you spend after having the vasectomy before getting it reversed, the less likely it is that you'll ever be able to have kids again.
When it comes to kids, we really need to be brutally honest about what these activists are getting wrong and some must be lying about.
No, if you're giving your child hormones, your child can't always just stop the hormones and go back. Once his or her voice changes, that's permanent. There are already cases of teenaged trans boys going through menopause and trans women being permanently sterilized due to hormone therapy.
These are life altering decisions and these manics are trying to push these decisions on younger and younger children.
This isn't even addressing surgery. Rachel Levin wouldn't outright condemn gender affirming surgery on children.
If you're split on this issue, just ask yourself if you'd condone parents taking a child into a clinic to get a vasectomy. If you wouldn't, you should be against any gender affirming procedure on children, surgical or chemical, as an absolute. If you would, you're an evil person.
I understand why people feel compelled to lie to themselves and remain wilfully ignorant about these things and continue to tell themselves, and others, that everything that is done can be undone. Your good intentions don't change the fact that you're ruining lives.
