Remember the Law: All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God

The book of Deuteronomy is centered on the promulgation of the commandments of Moses and their extension to the daily life of the community of Israel through a series of precepts that extend the meaning of the tables of the law. Due to its humanitarian nature, towards those in need such as the orphans and the widows, the law of Moses is an improvement on the laws of the ancient world and especially the code of Hammurabi and the law of Talion.
The central idea of Deuteronomy and of all these precepts is to love the Lord above all things, the most important commandment of all and origin of all wisdom for man: "Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength" Deuteronomy 6:5.
The book of Deuteronomy also reminds us that God is faithful, and just as the fulfillment of the Law implies blessings for the chosen people, its abandonment also implies a series of curses. Deuteronomy explains to us that God does not want evil, but he does not want men to follow the path of error either, that is why the law implies blessings and punishments.
Always remember the law, says the Lord to the Israelites, and always be faithful to it. The book of Deuteronomy describes 8 blessings that the Lord guarantees to the people of Israel for their obedience, these blessings are blessings of peace, prosperity, joy, happiness, and a long and secure life in the promised land.
Thus the book of Deuteronomy begins with the narration of the blessings of the Lord:
"If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God" Deuteronomy 28:1-2.
The history of the people of Israel throughout the Old Testament is a reminder of these blessings and curses expressed in Deuteronomy.
