Trayvon Martin would have turned 29 today, if he were still alive.

He was a good kid, admired and respected by the people that knew him and cared for him. Years before his own death he saved his father's life by dragging him from a burning apartment. He was a good student. He wanted to be a pilot and attended an aviation school alongside his high school studies.

The man who shot and killed him is a violent, racist, misogynistic sociopath with a long history of domestic violence, harassment, and aggravated assault, stretching both before and after this murder. A few years ago he tried to auction off the gun he used to kill Martin, calling it an American firearms "icon."
