Recently, the Australian Computer Society (ACS) awarded Professor Joseph Liu an “ICT Researcher of the Year” Award. Their event, ACS Digital Distribution Awards 2018 recognized achievements from individuals in the ICT sector in Australia. The award was for the development of ring signature algorithm (Ring CT) which privacy coin Monero has implemented it. Ring CT was conceived in 2004. Per Liu, Monero implemented his algorithm without his knowledge. Currently, he is a Monash University lecturer and works on crypto project Hcash.
