My first introduction to the Block Chain technology was when Bitcoin first came out. I didn't give it much though at the time as it was just introduced to the world. I've heard of it during one of my searches online back when our community was served basic internet through the telephone lines.
Seems so long ago with all of upgrades to the technology now a days. I was just happy that I could get online and chat with friends in other communities without the long distance charges. This was made possible by a few people with a vision of serving our region with internet, even if it was through the age old telephone lines, without having to pay the outrageous long distances charges. Thanks Darrell Ohokannoak and Richard Evalik and the others involved for bringing this essential service to our region.
I didn't think that Bitcoin would affect my life in anyway so when it showed up during one of my searches I just browsed right on by. A few days later I received an email in my Hotmail account advising me that Bitcoin was just going out on the market and again believing that it wouldn't affect my life in anyway I just put the email in my spam folder. I now wish I paid more attention to what it is and the technology behind creating the cryptocurrency. This is very interesting stuff and has open my eyes to possibilities that this creates. I shall continue my journey into this world and share what I've learned.
