Ok, that was a surprise because I do not actively monitor what's going on with the more technical part of Steem blockchain. Is it good, is it bad, who knows, but I wonder now how the coin transaction will work if we decide to cash out. Will we have to convert Dtube coins to SBD and then to bitcoin and lose even more $ in the process, or will it work some other way?.. Also, if Dtube is still a part of Steem blockchain, why this change? Will go and read more on this now.
UPD. Oh, we can now get our videos from youtube and other sites!
From what I’ve read it will still be on steem but also be synced with a another chain run by dTube! You will also be able to link your videos on Palnet and I heard theirs a PalTube coming soon which I assume will have the same features
Most likely you’ll have to trade your dTube tokens for steem and then to BTC or trade your dTube tokens for upvotes in Steem
The point isn’t really to make cash and cash it out to BTC and fiat the point is we have all these tokens that feed into steem and eventually Steem has to be the overarching currency we use to trade for goods and services!
It’s a pretty exciting time and with all these innovations we will see a lot more projects which I’m hoping we will see eCommece and physical commerce solutions!
The end goal is to be an end to end currency where Steem isn’t sold but traded with different Wallets for various transactions between steemians
If it all goes well you can buy me a beer with your steem wherever you are in the world and to me that’s a goal worth striving for

Cool!
That will be just perfect
I’ve been thinking a lot about that -
trade or exchange without banks, dollars, credit, etc
But then again at this point of my life I still have dollar bills to pay 😬 not that whatever SBD I get here will cover it, but still...
slowly coming out of credit traps )))
