Types of Blockchain

in blockchain •  7 years ago
  1. Public blockchain: no restrictions on reading block data (which can also be encrypted) and sending transactions.

  2. Private blockchain: direct access to data and the right to send transactions are granted to a limited number of organizations.

  3. Permissionless blockchain: no restrictions related to the identity of transaction validators, i.e., users who can generate blocks.

  4. Permissioned blockchain: transactions are processed by approved individuals that underwent identity verification. A permissioned blockchain doesn’t necessarily have to be private.
