In the process of creating a wallet on Coinbase, a widely used virtual currency exchange, Anthony was coached by scammer Michelle.
A few weeks later, when Anthony realized he had been duped, he discovered that each $49 had been transferred from Michelle's wallet to 250 other accounts too.
Over the past few months, Anthony has spent time tracking down the scammer through image searches, analysis of crypto transactions, and photographs of road signs and other items Michelle sent.
