Blockchain security firm PeckShield first identified the hack of exchange LCX based on the suspicious transfer of ERC-20 tokens to an unidentified Ethereum wallet.
The exchange immediately confirmed the possible compromise of this hot wallet and announced the disappearance of a number of tokens, including Ether (ETH), USD Coin (USDC), and other tokens including internal LCX tokens.
PeckShield's investigation revealed that LCX lost a cumulative $6.8 million as a result of the hacking of eight different tokens, including Sandbox (SAND), Quant (QNT), Chainlink (LINK), Enjin Coin (ENJ), and Maker (MKR).
