A wave of "pig slaughter" crypto scams via dating apps has reportedly preyed on the lonely hearts of Silicon Valley.

To make their fake personas seem realistic, scammers often turn conversations into encrypted messaging services, such as WhatsApp, to continue their daily conversations.

The case of R, who lost about $1.3 million, is particularly noteworthy because he is an IT manager in the Bay Area who was first approached via LinkedIn.

Are you tech savvy? Beware of being the victim too!!
