Hackers are exploiting vulnerabilities in OpenMetadata software to install cryptocurrency miners on unsuspecting computers.

These miners use a lot of processing power and electricity, driving up bills for the victims while generating a small profit for the attackers.

The attackers target a specific type of cryptocurrency, Monero, known for its privacy features.
