ONO is a blockchain-based social platform that is based on the EOS, and centers on the significance of attention while providing a unrestricted, decentralized social network to a new global audience.

This platform stresses the importance of attention and time in society, where everyone would place value with social media content. The users that are using ONO can be rewarded in addition to the content creators, as the time and energy that was spent by these creators are considered part of the overall value of the content.

Users can earn token rewards by being active with social activities, participating in platform building, and creating high-quality content. In addition, third party developers can build apps based on the open platform that ONO gives, which provides users with a diverse experience, and earn the benefits of the ONOT token. The smart contract can be utilized in the ONOT token ecosystem in order to build openness and transparency, and ensure the interests of all creators.

In comparison to a decentralized platform like ONO, centralized platforms have complete control over the content distribution, and monetize the social energy for their own financial gain. Content creators would never hit the trending page, even if they've worked hard to produce quality content. These users have their visibility and exposure restricted unless they pay promotional fees.

Due to the opaque nature of the relationship between the centralized company and its users, no one except for the company really knows how these platforms conduct their operations. Therefore there is constant confusion regarding the users that they ban, the reasons of how they handle the content and accounts of users in an arbitrary way, and therefore the users not being able to defend their legal rights. The opacity is further stressed with certain companies even manipulating the public opinion by writing fake comments on zombie accounts.

Alongside other social blockchain platforms, ONO looks to disrupt this traditional business model and properly reward the individuals that create for and use their decentralized infrastructure.
