LALA World - An Ecosystem for the migrants and their unbanked families

When you think "blockchain", the first reaction is "fintech" and "big money". And many blockchain based startups are targeting established industries, where there is big money to be made.

But the versatility of the blockchain technology is revealed not in these projects, but in areas that are, by various reasons, shielded from the standard money flow. Areas where, for instance, people don't even have enough collateral to be bankable.

LALA World, a Singapore based blockchain startup aims to solve a problem in these "grey" areas, namely migrants and their (almost) impossible access to banking services.

It's not the first time I see something coming from the blockchain and towards less developed areas of our society. I've seen a few startups which are trying to implement Bitcoin in African areas where money is scarce and the recent unrest in Zimbabwe also shown us how Bitcoin can be leveraged to add a layer of safety during times of uncertainty.

I'm also a constant user of Kiva, which is a lending platform using "traditional" PayPal payments (when PayPal became the "traditional" way to send money over the internet, by the way?) and I firmly believe in efforts that are directed towards poorer areas of this world. Maybe because I used to live in poverty, in a communist country, but that's another story.

What LALA World is trying to bring is an ecosystem of tokens, debit cards, wallet and banking services for those who can't afford it right now, migrants and their families. The geographical target is made of: Singapore, India, Malaysia, Dubai, Bangladesh.

And obviously, there's a pre-ICO going on, you can learn more about it here (not an affiliate link).

Disclaimer: I own a small amount of LALA tokens.

This is interesting. I can see a whole new way of trading, especially in these areas, springing up. If you can pay someone by 'bumping phones', and the dollar amounts are able to be small enough, then the possibilities for small business and individuals are endless.

The chance to dig themselves out of poverty will exist, until the government finds out about it of course. ;-)

Lala, a great startup, let's see how it will affect the future of cryptocurrency, as you mentioned some startups already made their move in this field, thnx for sharing 👍

A blockchain project that actually aims to fight poverty and help those in need is something I can get behind. Crazy, this year has been an ICO Boom. It's impossible to keep up with all these lauches. I wonder what 2018 will be like?

Nice post! What will happening, if someone resteem your post?

I think 2018 will slow down a bit. Or it will generate a more formal framework for ICOs. I can already see how many ICOs are extending they participation window and many of them aren't hitting their target. It's healthy, IMHO.

To revolutionize the financial system we must experiment and try and fail and try again. Until we get it right. I agree that is healthy innovation. I also think we will see more regulation, likely caused by BS ponzi trains going to hell and hurting users.

Another concern of mine is that with this exponential bitcoin marketcap growth (and price) we could see a major increase in market dominance 53% ---> 70/80% ? Bleeding altcoins and ICOs dry. What do you think?

I think by the end of next year BTC dominance will be below 45-50%. This year alts marketcap grew 60 times. BTC marketcap grew 16 times. So the momentum is bigger in the alts area.

Time will tell, all I'm saying is just speculation, obviously.

An opposite opinion :D I wish the alts to prosper, but it is just a concern I have. You know how the trades are a chain reaction and Bitcoin bull runs trigger exponential FOMO and damge the altcoins growth. With CME Futures and big investors coming on board I can really see this happening. Most Alts don't have a product out that gives value, only market speculation. I hope you are right tho, as a holder :D

Time will tell :)

Personally, i just prefer to spread my portfolio between alts, good ICOs and bitcoin.

@dragosroua really refreshing to see a project that intends to make a difference!

The "Personal Sovereignty" box is now open, it will be a fascinating decade during the crossover period.

That is uncommon common sense.

Thanks for this good news @dragosroua. In my opinion, what crypto+blockchain will do to revolutionize the business world could be rivaled in importance by what they might to do lift people out of poverty around the world. Pl. see my related comments at the top of this article..
Cheers!

I have read it.Thanks LALA World for giving opportunity. I am very glad for your sharing. upvote @dragosroua
