Did you know you can do a proof of existence of your documents on the blockchain? Go to https://proofofexistence.com to upload the proof of existence of a specific document (not the document itself). Later on you or somebody else can verify if the document they have is the original or modified by comparing the hash of the document you have with the one on the blockchain.
In this way you can safely proof if you or somebody is using the right document. For example your thesis, house ownership documents, work contract, etc.
