After attempting to utilize Blockchain technology for the protection of user privacy, Microsoft again announced the adoption of Blockchain for one of its services, this time in the form of Azure Blockchain Workbench. This technology allows users of Microsoft Azure (formerly known as Windows Azure) to develop Blockchain-based applications more quickly and easily.
Microsoft Azure itself is a computing platform for developing, testing, managing applications and services on an institutional scale. The integration of these platforms with Blockchain, specifically can make it easier for Blockchain-based application developers. Currently, various services that are integrated with the Blockchain system are on the rise. Not just individually, the use of Blockchain also attracted the interests of various companies and financial institutions, even the British central bank class (BoE).
Some features of Azure Blockchain Workbench include:
Azure Active Directory: provides options for single sign-on and simpler consortium identity management.
Azure Key Vault: offers secure Private Key storage.
Service Bus and Event Grid: able to automate the required Smart Contracts.
Signature, Hashing, Supply Chain: can be used easily by the original API Blockchain.
Available on-chain data synchronization features with Cloud storage, and off-chain databases for easier business analysis.Integration of the Blockchain workflow with systems and applications using Logic Apps.
Ability with REST-based API for client development, and message-based API for system-to-system integration.
Microsoft Azure has been relied upon by several financial institutions and companies, including Hapoalim Bank of Israel, Nestle food distributor, and Apttus software producer. Thus, the existence of Azure Blockchain Workbench provides a convenience gateway for such companies to adopt Blockchain adoption. Microsoft has also collaborated with Hyperledger, United Nations (United Nations), R3 Consortium Research, and Blockchain Research Group from Cornell University to study various aspects of Blockchain technology.
Besides that. While some celebrities such as Warren Buffett and Bill Gates remain clinging to his stance in spicy criticism of the crypto currency, Nasdaq CEO Adena Friedman firmly believes that the crypto currency is the future of world finance. It is also not ashamed to let the whole world know its stance on Blockchain's virtual currency based.
In an interview with CNN on May 9, 2018, the Nasdaq chief stated fairly confident that DLT (Distributed Ledger) technology and its digital currency would play a major role in the world economy
"The idea of a more efficient global payment mechanism, allowing transfers between countries, and supporting the 'internet economy', is likely to be the right development for the future of world currencies," said Adena Friedman.
