Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman, World Economic Forum said " The term “The Fourth Industrial Revolution” has become common parlance, conveying the magnitude of the changes underway."

The change that is underway now will transform society as we know it. The speed of change is so rapid that if your expecting this to arrive in 10 years it will be too late. Individuals are using technology available today to create the new norms of the future. We see this clearly within the FinTech space centred around #blockchain technology. The old norms of raising capital for innovative projects through seed funding, angel investors and venture capital is being disrupted. Now a bunch of kids in their bedrooms can launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) and side step traditional finance and raise millions from people all around the world through smart contracts.
Klaus Schwab writes: "Our understanding of previous industrial revolutions is that, while they create huge wealth and opportunity, they also create significant harm: many people miss out on the benefits entirely, and it is most often those populations with the least voice or power who bear the negative consequences. It is therefore not good enough for us to leave the evolution of our technological future to chance, or to trust that market forces will create the future we want. Instead, we need to talk, think and act today. "
We can see some evidence of this in blockchain, fortune favors the earliest adopters and those with large fiat capital reserves to buy in huge at the start to reap generational wealth in this new society. There is still opportunity for the little guy to take part but it still leaves a huge group of people still unable to participate simply because they are unbanked and do not have easy access to disposable capital that they can put into emerging ICOs to reap huge rewards.
My team and I at ATLAS can see this gap and want to help close it through the establishment of a global WORK focused blockchain. Initially established as a fork of Ethereum simply because its the most stable and feature rich blockchain technology available to us at this time. My team and I have created a globally focused dApp that will make it easy for anyone world wide to sign up and start earning #cryptocurrency of their choice. You do not need to have a bank account or initial capital to buy crypto, you only need the willingness to work. Through the dedicated WORK focused blockchain and employment based and tailored smart contracts my team and I aim to automate the whole work flow including the dispute resolution process.
We recognize and can see the convergence of digitalization, #AI and automation and disruptive fintech technology like blockchain that enables the practically instant transfer of value world wide in a secure and tamper proof way. People that will use the Atlas Blockchain to engage in new ways to work can get paid in cryptocurrency at the same rate as everyone else and then people world wide will be able to trasnact globally with that cryptocurrency. They can even trade that cryptocurrency or invest it in emerging ICOs.
One of the long term visions for Atlas is the creation and roll out of Atlas IoT Hubs potentially powered by IOTA due to its zero fees property, it is targeted towards low resourced communities that we want to facilitate job creation through Atlas.Work
Klaus Schwab writes: " Thinking and acting round the Fourth Industrial Revolution demands a new type of leadership — an approach we call “systems leadership”. Systems leadership in this context doesn’t just mean leading on the design of the technologies themselves but also acting as a leader on how they are governed and the values they exhibit in how they affect people from all backgrounds. "
This is true when we look at blockchain, smart contracts and Decentralised Autonomous Organisations (DAO) or in the creation of these new blockchain solutions like the Atlas Blockchain. We are not just creating a simple website where people can earn some cryptocurrency we are bringing a whole new ecosystem to the world that exhibits some of these properties like DAO's and smart contracts. Through an Atlas Blockchain DAO the people that use the Atlas Blockchain will be the people who decide how it progresses in terms of features and direction.
The term "agile governance" was mentioned by Klaus Schwab to explain the concept of "matching the nimbleness, fluidity, flexibility and adaptiveness of the technologies themselves and the private-sector actors adopting them. This means thinking not just about what new rules might be needed, but finding entirely new ways to create and update rules over time in collaboration with other sectors ".
That is why I love blockchain technology, it supports and promotes collaboration globally through open source. Governance models like the DAO that emerged through Ethereum smart contracts is a good example of this. Unfortunately the famos DAO on Ethereum got hacked through a vulnerability in the source code. Vulnerability aside it was one of the fastest crowdsourced projects of all time raising upwards of $150 million in around 3 weeks. The whole concept where anyone could contract with this DAO, submit proposals and vote on submitted proposals and through the technology be able to direct the raised funds to worthwhile projects.
I believe we are only at the start of this innovation around agile governance and we are already starting to see it evolve with Vitalik Buterins' DAICO model proposal. https://themerkle.com/vitalik-buterin-releases-revolutionary-new-aico-model-for-icos/

While I do not agree with everything Klaus Schwab says or believes he is spot on. He ends his recent article with this,
" We should, therefore, all be part of building aspirational visions of the future, influencing how technologies are developed and adopted. As we change the way we talk, we change the way we think and create new opportunities to act. Let’s act, together, now, to make those aspirational visions of the future real for as many people as possible, all around the world. "
That I 100% agree with Klaus, that is why I am in the blockchain space, that is why I am developing the Atlas Blockchain with my team and helping to support and redefine the #FutureOfWork we believe the old ways of working such as commuting 1+ hr in traffic each day or having to accept the rail fare increase every January (UK only) and the old way of thinking that to be innovative and effective and add value you need to some how spend your day sitting in a bricks and mortar building eating crappy canteen food. Never mind the monthly pay cycles and the extortionate tax paid as an employee. One of the most depressing experiences for many is bonus time for those lucky enough to get one. When you do it's taxed, they even take pension contributions and student loans normally leaving you with less than half. It defeats to point of a bonus.
In this new industrial revolution where cryptocurrencies and smart contracts move value almost instantly and in some cases at zero fess in addition to it being digital enables the owner to make that cryptocurrency work for him through backing new ICOs even just staking some cryptocurrency in a currency that uses Proof of Stake that gets them a better return on investment than any high street bank.
When people can work when they want, how they want and get paid in whatever currency they want we believe more and more people will adopt this way of working, they will rebel against the soul destroying traffic commute and be able to spend more time with family and friends without compromising on their income.
Help shape the future of work! Be part of building that vision of the future.
Atlas has several open positions now from developers, to marketers to business development people. It a large project that needs lots of diverse talend from around the world. If you are interested in getting into a blockchain venture before it goes to an ICO then please reach out to the team.
