Who We Are
Whether we realize it or not, last mile logistics plays an important role in all of our lives. Every country, every city, and every town needs these services in order to thrive. Currently, we rely on a vast network of delivery companies to accomplish what has become an indispensable component of the global economy. To that end, Serve is a global service platform that has been developed by a team with over 100 years of combined experience in logistics. The team’s last project, Scoobeez, is a global leader in last mile logistics that was voted Global Vendor of the Year for two consecutive years. This team has had global success with some of the world’s largest retailers, making more than 40 million deliveries on an annual basis.
The Problem
Through our involvement in the industry, our team has been privy to inside costs and monetization strategies from some of the largest delivery platforms all over the world. Merchants are being charged 20 to 40% and drivers receive little for themselves while the accumulated platform fees are at the expense of the end user. This is how an $11 pizza ends up being $24 to the end user.
The Solution
At Serve, we see a global economy where patrons, businesses, and logistics providers can work on an open ecosystem built upon a decentralized platform. The Serve ecosystem has at its core, a foundation of transparency and immutability, which, in turn, fosters trust. We believe that a business selling a pizza for $11 should receive $11; that a logistics provider (such as a pizza delivery person) requesting $4.50 to fulfill the order should receive $4.50; and the patron (the person ordering the pizza) should only have to pay $15.50. All of this is possible with the Serve platform.
We also believe that by creating this new open economy, a driver is not limited to delivering one item from one vendor at one time. There is no reason why a driver should need to use several different apps and/or devices in order to maximize their income opportunities. Serve solves these problems and the possibilities are endless.
Currently, due to the centralized nature of providing services, logistics providers and businesses have to use an array of applications to maximize their revenue opportunities. By decentralizing the information, we allow global access to all data stored on the blockchain. Using multiple apps to accept orders is an outdated model. Through Serve, logistics providers and businesses can now focus on what’s important — their work.
Staking
At Serve, we believe that successful fulfillment does not simply mean the delivery of a product. In the current ecosystem, complications arise out of a lack of accountability. Other than the business itself, providing high-quality service to ensure customer satisfaction is not a big enough incentive for every logistics provider in the process to deeply care about the end result.
If an order is not fulfilled as expected by the end user, the patron currently bears the brunt of the unsuccessful fulfillment. In this situation, only the patron provides an adequate amount of attention since no one else has a direct interest in the process. In order to motivate every participant to reach a successful fulfillment, Serve is introducing a staking system. By having Enterprises and Providers stake tokens into the process, they will go the extra mile to ensure the transaction is successfully fulfilled. Additionally, this staking will reduce fraud and mistakes in every transaction. Since staking ensures participants have, “skin in the game,” the system aligns the interests of the logistics provider and the patron. This is how Serve facilitates the perfect delivery experience.
Real Reviews
In addition to aligning the interests of the various participants in a transaction, Staking also solves the problem of reputation management. In today’s world, reviews are being stored and displayed without much verification or any clear association. This creates an environment of damaged reputations and a loss of business, much of which results from fraud and manipulation. By requiring participants to stake, we are solving these overarching problems. Since the Serve platform mandates that each review goes through a validation process which involves staking, businesses can rest assured that reviews are connected to transactions.
Enterprise Technology
After months of internal studies and our team’s own experience with last mile logistics, we know the significance of the market for last mile services. While users were aware of same-day, next-day, and on-demand delivery, there was a notable lack of services in areas with lower population density. This is due to large platforms and brands staying away from towns and smaller cities due to costs. By providing a decentralized solution, Serve provides anyone t the ability to create their own marketplace and start providing services in their area. Now anyone has the ability to participate in this burgeoning economy.
We also understand that small businesses don’t have the resources or the knowledge to build or connect with blockchain technology. Our enterprise-level technology is accessible to small businesses to reduce dependence on large platforms that bring little value to a transaction. This technology includes custom websites, branded iOS and Android Apps, and management portals to help them manage their business from start to finish.
Conclusion
Serve has at its core a singular vision — to bring the world a perfect delivery experience. We aim to level the playing field and put the power back into the hands of the main participants in every transaction by removing those who bring little or no value. In doing so, Serve brings everything to everyone and everyone to everything.
