Work institutionalization is a real feeling for people who have been slaving for more than 20 years, such as myself.
I am misguidedly confident in my ability to break the chains. But at my advanced age, it seems unlikely. I hope the younger generations don't crumple under the weight of pessimism and depressing behavior I see at work on a daily basis. That's the frustrating part, seeing spirits broken so early in life. The younger crowd, they will be the ones to see this thing through, and return control to themselves.
I think the younger generation realizes their position and will chase different paths. We already see it happening with many of them choosing gigs that lead to different income streams.
