The Tinderbox Heart

This heart,
oh, where to place a tinderbox like mine?
Whistful pages,
fill whilst pounding slivers of transient time.

The quill leaks her stains, bleeding in grooves,
colors blend,
Can one verse prove
innocence or guilt in mourning, or pretend?

Beneath sun,
below stars
Can love contain fire
bridled or kindled,
with vision unmarred?

A safety of place;
Sought but not found
yielding seeds in green earth or roots below ground.

If fire strikes and cleanses,
Will all be destroyed?
Will pens utter storms or spring streams in life's soil?

Will such fiery tinder remain hid in a box,
or burst forth in her secrets
Bearing life's paradox?

@wandrnrose7 love 😍 your work.

Will pens utter storms or spring streams in life's soil?

This line spoke to me. So many times I have found that the pen bleeds such things as venom, sweat, tears, ice, water and blood. Those things are in all of us, and I still find myself amazed at the ability of poetry and other arts to bring it to the surface. Thanks for sharing, and thank you for being a Block Chain Poet!

Thank you @moeknows very much for reading and commenting. I agree that a pen bleeds all of these things, and it can at times speak what we never knew we intend, even. I'm glad to be part of Block Chain Poets

I am glad you set a spark to the tinder and produced this. It is wise and knowing, yet with enough room there for any one to find themselves. Well done! Peace.

Thank you @platosgroove for the wonderful comment <3 much Love!

Beautiful and emotional all in one. Ones misguided heart caught in a paradigm. Either close up forever or take a chance to be renewed.

Thank you @pixiehunter. This is truly the quandary <3

Really enjoyed the rhythm you employed in this piece, @wandrnrose7, I think the quick lines and transitions between comparisons and metaphors.

These transitions lent themselves to the message I perceived of this poem, the 'knife's edge' nature of tension between whether our heart's passions reveal themselves (the tinder ignited) or attempt to hide themselves away (unkindled).

There is a natural flow in your writings that always pulls a reader in, Janelle, and it makes me so excited when I see a new piece of yours in my timeline.

Thank you so much for reading and sharing your thoughts and response to my verse. I'm so glad you were able to absorb the message. You truly made me smile.

This is fantastic! I too like the lines

A safety of place;
Sought but not found
yielding seeds in green earth or roots below ground.

This has a really nice flow to it. I also like the structure you chose. Great job @wandrnrose7!

Thank you so much for the kind words. I am so glad you enjoyed my verse. <3

No melodrama, just lovely descriptions. Nothing over described, each sentence written with such care and restraint that the mind wanders off. I love all your poems @wandrnrose 7 <3

That makes me so happy to read! Much love, my dear!

I never saw this until today. It's stunningly beautiful, brittle, fragile, tender, all sorts of things. But mostly, it's as magical as you are. I bet these verses could shift a heart the weight of a mountain.

This is the most amazing comment I've had all day. Hugs you!
