Onshore Winds Next 2 Days Warm Friday Soupy Weekend
We are going to see a 15 degree or so change from yesterday' Tuesday highs reached the mid 80s to near 90 in many areas but today it will highs mostly between 70 & 70 thanks to the latest weather front pushing south, a high off the coast of Maine, and a southeast wind all day long. The visible satellite shows low clouds right along the immediate coast and over most of New Jersey and points south but just to the north of NYC and Route 78 in New Jersey & Pennsylvania we have sunshine. The cloud line should move a bit further south this morning but it won't stray too far from where it is now. Where there are lots of clouds, those areas will struggle to get out of the 60s.
EASTERN SATELLITE
REGIONAL RADAR
Right now the radars are all fairly quiet and they should remain so during the day. We will start to see some showers develop tonight and there could be some around for the Thursday morning commute. Temperatures overnight will be in the 50s to near 60.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
Thursday we will see clouds and scattered showers with that pesky ocean wind and highs in the upper 60s to mid 70s. Then we will warm up Friday as the next cold front approaches so it is a brief ride back into the 80s and the chance for showers and a thunderstorm.
GFS EARLY SATURDAY MORNING JUNE 2, 2018
We discussed yesterday the prospect of another big high building down from Canada for this coming weekend and the blocking pattern that is setting up in the North Atlantic to cause all this. There is no real change here in the outlook. We will see cloudy and raw conditions this weekend with a wind off the ocean and occasional rain. Highs both Saturday and Sunday will be just into the 60s. This may carry into Monday of next week before weather conditions genuinely improve on Tuesday. We will have more on the weekend forecast and the long range outlook late today.
