Authorizations / Mga Awtorisasyon

An Authorization, along with a registered BlockTrades account, allows you to increase your daily trading limit.
In response to regulations we require users to create an account before they are allowed to trade with us. Your account will initially have a daily trading limit of 1750 USD, but you can increase this limit by submitting identification information via the Authorization menu.

Confirmed / Kumpirmado

A transaction state indicating that it has been processed and included in a block.
If a transaction shows “confirmed” on a block explorer then it has reached its destination. If it is confirmed as reaching your receive address but you do not see it in your wallet then you may want to check out our article on troubleshooting.

Deposit address (payment address) / Address sa pag-deposito (address sa pagbayad)

The BlockTrades address you will send your trade to.
Depending on the service this could be a uniquely generated address (BTC, BCH, ETH, LTC, Dash, Doge, XMR) or a common address with a uniquely generated memo (BTS, Steem). These addresses are also reusable: we have no plans to expire these once they have been generated. This means that you can create one, send a small test transfer to ensure it was set up properly, and then keep it in a safe place for future trades.

Deposit limit / Utlanan sa Pag-deposito

The largest order that we are capable of processing at this moment.

We maintain a sufficient amount in each of our “hot” wallets to cover most transactions, and we monitor these balances closely, but situations can arise where we run out of a particular type of coin. The “deposit limit” lets you know exactly where we stand, and it gives you a reasonable expectation of service: as long as you do not exceed this amount your transaction should process almost instantaneously.

This is not to say that we cannot process larger orders: if you find yourself in this situation please file a support request and we will be happy to work out a solution for you.

Hosted wallet / Wallet nga gi-host

A wallet that is hosted by an exchange or other third party, as opposed to one that is run locally from your own computer.
Broadly, wallets are of two varieties: traditionally they were kept locally on your own hardware, or more recently many exchanges and other providers offer to host your wallet for you. There are pros and cons to each, but it is important to know that the mechanisms by which your cryptocurrency appears in your hosted wallet can vary greatly in method and delay.

If you experience a delay in a trade that is sent from and/or to a hosted wallet you should first check a block explorer to verify that the transaction was submitted to the blockchain and check if it has confirmed yet. If it has been submitted from a hosted wallet and it is still pending or if it has been submitted to a hosted wallet and it is confirmed then you may need to contact the service that hosts your wallet for resolution.

Payment ID / ID sa pagbayad

(optional) The payment ID is like a signature, and it lets the receiver of your transaction know who it came from.
Generally you will be provided with an “integrated address” when sending XMR, which has the Payment ID built in. In case you wish to generate your own Payment IDs we provide this field, however it is unnecessary for most users.

Pending

A transaction state indicating it has been submitted to and seen by a blockchain, but it has not yet been included in a block.
A transaction will usually not spend long in a “pending” state, however there are circumstances that cause this and as a result there are tactics you can employ to avoid complications. Most commonly this would be due to heavy traffic or general issues with the respective blockchain, often resulting in an increase in paid transaction fees. If your standard fees are suddenly less than the average, miners will either not pick up or perhaps not see your trade, and your payment will hang in a “pending” state until one does.
While our service does calculate the value of your trade upon it appearing on the blockchain, we cannot complete the trade until your cryptocurrency has confirmed in our wallet. The reasons for this are many, but, specifically, although the money appears to no longer be accessible to you, it has not actually left your wallet, and if the transaction times out it will return to the wallet you sent from.

Note that these amounts are calculated from our continuously aggregated data. Although this estimate will be accurate up-to-the-minute, the actual value of your trade will be calculated upon your input transaction being submitted to its respective blockchain, i.e. once it appears as pending.

Receive memo / Memo sa pagdawat

(optional) This allows you to attach a memo to the output transaction for Steem and BTS.
This is necessary to transfer to wallets hosted by exchanges that use a common input address. If your particular service requires this they will provide you with a memo in their instructions for receiving cryptocurrency.
This can also be useful for keeping track of your trades on blockchains that support it.

Synced / Naka-sync

Syncing your wallet to the blockchain ensures that it is updated to reflect all of the transactions in and out.
How to do this depends on the service that hosts your wallet or the software that you use to host your own. You may need to contact your wallet provider or otherwise search your software or online for instructions.

Transaction hash / Hash sa transaksyon

A unique string of characters that identifies your transaction on the blockchain.
A “transaction hash” is like an individual receipt for your transaction.Any time you create a transaction on a blockchain it will generate a unique hash that helps you, and us, look up this receipt later on. This is probably the most effective way to ask for assistance on an individual transaction, so make sure you keep a record of these or know how to find them if anything goes wrong.

Trustee (recovery account) / Piniyalan (akawnt sa pagbawi)

Steem blockchain only: the account that is listed as your “trustee” can help recover your password in cases where your account has been stolen.
A feature unique to the Steem blockchain, when you create an account you are automatically assigned the account that created yours as your “trustee.” Your trustee cannot access your keys or recover a lost password; however, in the event that your account is stolen they can be instrumental in recovering it.
In short: you have 30 days after your keys are changed before it becomes permanent, and during this time you can submit an order to the Steem blockchain to change your keys again using your old master or owner key. Your trustee is responsible for verifying your identity and signing this request.

You can change your trustee from the default, but this process is outside of the scope of our service.
View your trustee on https://steemd.com/@your-account-name. They will be listed as your “Recovery account.”
