I actually don’t believe there is such a thing as “failure.” Ha?! (Labo!) Ganito kasi yun. I believe that you really only “fail” if you come out of a bad situation without learning the lessons you had to learn. Diba sabi, “God won’t give you anything you can’t handle? “Totoo yun. In every experience you see as a “failure” on your part, yung tipong feeling mo gusto mo nang bumuka yung lupa at lamunin ka, there is an important lesson to be learned. And when we learn from our mistake, acknowledge our weakness, or work to improve ourselves, it most definitely won’t count as a failure. It’ll count as a necessary step for you to be closer to your dream, to an amazing opportunity, or to be a better you.

Q&A

  1. What should I do when I feel like giving up?
  • Try to remember the reason why you got into that task, job, or challenge in the first place. When the reason for doing it no longer matters, when the passion is gone, or when you feel it isn’t worth it anymore, then that could be your sign to stop.
  1. How do I deal with people who make me feel I am weak?
  • Prove them wrong. People who make you feel you are weak are projecting an issue on you that they have with themselves. Wala, diba? Kaya, dedma na. Kung ano man yan, kaya mo yan. Magpakatatag.
  1. How do I stay positive?
  • To be honest, it takes a lot of work to stay positive. First, push yourself to think positive thoughts. Negative thoughts will only attract negative things. Second, surround yourself with positive people. Third, count your blessings, not your problems.
  1. Lagi na lang ako nagwo-worry. Masama ba yun?
  • No problem is ever solved or made easier by worrying. This is something I also have constantly remind myself because I worry a lot. I love Oogway’s advice to Po in Kung Fu Panda. “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That’s why it is called the present.” By not living life fully because of your worries, you will miss out on so much that today has to offer you!
  1. I keep trying. But when is enough, enough?
As long as you still want it, keep going. But remember, you can’t do that same thing over and over ang expect to get different results.
