Last time, we talked about dream and ambitions, meanings and difference, and how good it is to share your dreams. Well I tell you today, guide your dreams.

Growing up is one of the part in life, cos you get build your life with nothing much but your words and imaginations. You become a pilot, a lawyer, have a big mansion, own a private jet etc when you grow up. But as you eventually grow up, reality takes place.

So many people now are not even close to those things that they had passion for as a kid and while growing up also, why is this the trend now ?

some even give up their dreams and goes ahead to do what mummy and daddy thinks is right for them . what really happens is that their dreams were not well protected/guided by them

You have to be able to defend that which you have passion for. For instance, a young boy, who wants to become a dancer, but because of his parents discouragement, he dumps the idea of being the next M.J and goes off to collage to struggle with medicine or law. This is because this boy can’t defend his dreams [ie, pay for his tuition, sponsor himself feed himself, that is, if he decides to pursue his dreams and disobey the ideas of the parent.] but because he can’t defend this, he dances to the tone that he who pays the piper dictates.

Before you let out your dreams, make sure you can defend it.

Growing up, I once wanted to study law, but I was told that they lie lost and when they die, they are buried with their face facing down. And because I can’t defend this dream then, stood my grand and challenge the objection, I soon find myself gradually losing interest in studying law. Why because, at that point, I can’t defend that which I have passion for. You just don’t talk about dreams to anyone or any where.

They are dream killers, blind folded with ignorance that they hardly see the light you. The only light that they see is that of an oncoming train. They can’t see the future with you, they don’t explore, risk is a word not found in their dictionary. They would rather stick to a pay job than venture into a business of their own. Give them one idea about your start up, and they will give you one hundred and one reasons not .

When I was in secondary school[high school], in our final year[when we will take our WAEC=West African Examination council] a guy came to me and a friend of mine one day and told us that he has been having issues with chemistry and physics as a science student. I asked him why then did he opt to offer sciences, this was his answer “my parents wants me to study medicine” . He later diverted to arts class and became lost, all thanks to his parents.

Your thought is like a sperm, when you think, you deposit it into your brain where it germinates and become a fetus, that’s why is called a brainchild. If you have a child how will you treat him..? do same to your dreams/visions/ideas.
