Is Steemit Still Worth Your Time ? PH Post

Not really getting any creative vibes lately so I'll recycle my old art for thumbnail reasons. This post is just another additional to my previous real talk series. Steemit Rewards and Expectations and Voting Apathy

On to the topic at hand.

The answer depends on how much your time is worth. Just compare your average rewards for each post versus how much you could earn when doing something else productive would be rough gauge. A freelance writer’s single hour could earn them thrice the payout compared to posting content that would just usually earn them less than a solid SBD.

At the time of this writing, SBD and Steem are nearing 1 USD. So in terms of financial productivity, there are plenty of alternatives than spending time in this platform. But if you believe in the long term worth of steemit as something bigger than it is now, then investing your time doing minor things like public relations and posts may not be for nothing.

From my lowly minnow perspective, it’s difficult to see SBD and Steem prices going up anytime soon with the state of the platform. I mean, you got people registering here hoping to get a piece of the pie for free but it’s investors who actually bought SBD and Steem that drives the coin’s value up. Not the free accounts who take the coin and convert it to their fiat.

(Ngayon mahirap mag imagine sa short term keya no go na para bumili from peso to SBD or Steem.

It’s good if we got more users that post entertaining content, rare instances of spams and plagiarism, and less shitposts. But quality content is scarce, and their are plenty of abuse posts plaguing the platform and if you are unaware of how bad it really is, I do recommend you be an active steemcleaner volunteer. There’s plenty of toxicity to absorb just by searching the platform for plagiarized posts and spams.

Nakuha mo ba ibig kong sabihin?)

Steemit is worth the time if you’re using it for additional exposure for your content from other sites. I’m speaking using an artist’ perspective. Sites like facebook, instagram, deviantart, and steemit help contribute to building your online portfolio and presence for potential employers when they search Google. This place can be your testing ground to gauge engagement in your content. The same principle can be applied for beginning bloggers interested in making blogs outside the platform. This platform is your free marketing tool.

Use this place to experiment and see where you can improve. If you are an aspiring photographer, test the waters by posting a photography related blog, do public relations with photography niche groups, and profit from whatever learning you acquired. Post payouts just comes second. Because really, there’s no money here for minnows that dived in with zero investment unless they got luck on their side.

(Shy type kaba sa talent mo o trying to make hanap-hanap your talent ba besh? try mo e share dito.

It's never really been easy to get money here. Freelance pays way better. It's also not like facebook, so just posting that shit here isn't worthwhile. But you can build up a network over time if you do post quality content, and get rewarded. And if you post quality content, now's an even better time, because there's less great content than normal. I've gotten curied a few times recently. There's nothing like that curie rush.

If you believe in this place, and post actual good content, there's no reason not to keep posting. But if you're just here to make money, there are better places to be.

I never entered the platform thinking it was easy money. It's more on a testing the waters and see if it''s worth the time. Monetary rewards just came second. Though Id be lying if money wasn't part of the remaining motivation I have for my time in the platform, lately it's just mostly maintaining online relationships I got from the platform.
