Wall mushrooms - Whimsical display solution.

I've never considered myself as a designer, but I really liked how these came out. Based on shelf mushrooms these 3D printed shelves work great! I designed them initially to display my other 3D printed works (for guests and what not) but after seeing how well my son's mineral collection looked on them I ditched the first idea for the much classier display.

As you can see from the image I printed them in various sizes the largest being around 5 inches tall and the smallest around 2 inches. Of course the larger ones are hung using standard screws and the nearly universal "key hole" hanger design. (pictured below)

The smallest one of the lot was a little trickery to hang given that its hole was too small for the screws in the house. So using a paper clip I fashioned an anchor that holds it nice and secure against the wall.

All in all I'm pretty proud of it, the filament used glows in the dark so when the lights in the house are off the wall continues to be a focal point.

I'll be posting the stl files on pinshape along with my other projects. I'll probably ask for a small amount for them given the design is uniquely mine.

Shame there isn't a STEEM/crypto currency based 3D printing site.

These look really cool, @bflanagin ! And I think with a little bit more playfulness with the wall's paint, they would really rock a children's bedroom! I'm thinking, .... mushrooms, fairy tales murals! And looking at the back of these shrooms shelves, if we can use those re-detachable wall hooks, the wall can be really a living art thingo, to be re-painted for new stories from time to time .... maybe progressing the fairy tale stories with each iteration :D

I agree! I really like the idea of mixing 2D and 3D elements on walls. I'll probably end up making more things like this between all the other stuff I do.
