Jean-Jacques Rousseau

Even today, philosophical ideas, our strongest identities, our religions and enlightenments have the power to force.

Jean-Jacques Rousseau, who fed the excesses of the French Revolution, and perhaps even cultivated some cored seeds, seemed to be the worst thing that could be exhibited especially in England, especially because of his quirks, with unshakable belief in the goodness of man. nature.

But I started to think that you deserve more respect. In the last few seasons I have looked at the origins of secular humanism and saw the front page of the list of white men who are not alive today. Rousseau played a very important role in shaping the atmosphere of those days, and other thinkers found it or made significant contributions. At the same time, from a psychological point of view, he was a fascinating person who showed other thinkers of that age in a soulless way.

The need to reconcile human individualities with social belonging, the need to reconnect with the natural world, the separation from the many exaggerated absurdities that we call culture today, and everything that is important and important for all kinds of authenticity. A shameful need to guide all of us, ideas that meet our needs, is closely related to the periods in which we live as much as we are in our own race.

Some of our deepest assumptions are based on her thought or first speech. For example, the societies we live in are degenerate, immoral, and destructive, and we humans are small, helpless little victims, such as snow, in individual sense. Another example is the assumption that we are authors of our own life stories. We do not notice such patterns of thought until they are thought by others and come before our eyes.

In addition, looking at Rousseau's thought takes us to a broader debate on religion and atheism. Of course, I do not mean I agree with his religious beliefs, because I do not agree. But looking at your thoughts will help you see where your arguments come from. Only in the holy book or Church tradition is the self-conscious thought that created the world, a rational curiosity created by God, and a God who naturally believed in nourishing us. This natural moral courage, false ideas and rules should develop as long as they do not spoil it. There is an important point that overlaps with the idea we know as atheist thought, but this overlap is religion or at least a theoretical view. Perhaps examining what it means to be meaningful can encourage us to look at our own views.

Rousseau was born in Protestant Geneva in 1712. His father was a watchmaker; Mother died at birth. He left his apprenticeship at the age of 16 and went to Savoy, working in bizarre jobs. Under protection and at the same time he met a loving free Catholic woman and helped him find a job as a musician. Later, he moved to Paris in 1741 and wrote something for Encyclopédie. Later in 1749, he had a professional experience that transformed him. When he saw the title of a trial race opened by a magazine, he experienced it: "Suddenly the progress of science and art helped to destroy or purify the moral standards?" Suddenly he realized that he hated culture and was a great thinker. Both proud and credible modern cult argues that all proud enlightenment is fraud, decay and lack of authenticity. And he showed that it really meant not to be a city literary man (to be in an environment where active business people exist, to chat with them), to copy music notes and to win his life. He also wore sweaters worn cheaper than the elderly, wearing clothes that could be seen by a person who prefers to wear from the ages.

What was the problem? Did he not believe in a logical development for a more humane world? Here we are confronted with an interesting paradox: of course, the belief in the vision of enlightenment, but it is a very strong belief that other advocates demonstrate that they are fired on earth and deeply. The vision of mankind must have a great story to have a new point for the salvation of the good that exists at the core of mankind and at the same time to tell how civilization has destroyed this essence.
