True Inspiration

What is true inspiration?

Where does it come from?

Ancient Romans believed that a Genius, similar to a Guardian Angel, is a spirit that follows around every man and woman. When that person created something, it meant the Genius was with them, speaking to them, guiding their creation!

Is inspiration an event that happens out of our control? Many times it feels this way.

I would like to suggest something else; however, I would like to share my experience:

True inspiration comes from your own hard work.

When you spend time with creation, pouring attention, energy, and soul into it, you will create something remarkable. Then, when you reflect on your accomplishment, you will be flooded with admiration for what has transpired. This feeling is true inspiration! It is the most elusive- there are no shortcuts. You can only get there by finishing the work. Rejoice when you feel it, you earned it, and use it to propel your art to further heights.
