Mining Against Criminals

in blog •  7 years ago

Digital criminals, ransomware and more keep so many at bay when it comes to internet use. Coming up with new anti-hacker methods seems to be a growing trend in information security. I too want to throw my idea in the hat. Coinhive & Coinpot's version of Coinhive's JavaScript Monero Miner can be used to fight back against hackers and maybe even ransomware.

Monero’s (XMR) anonymous mining protocols & the fact XMR uses the growing cryptonight algorithm family (Original Cryptonight & Cryptonight-Light) means this is a very diverse mining currency. Coinhive (CNHV) took the very diverse mining algorithm and gave it further diversity by using JavaScript (JS). This addition means devices that have architectural that is not in compatible to the current XMR mining programs can still mine Monero Anonymously on their web browser/http protocol service (console browser). Using a system of Virtual Machines running Linux, we can design backtrack code to inject a variable-thread JS CNHV console miner script after a hacker or ransomware begins the unusual activity.

Thanks to SFTP Servers, Onion, Data Protocol service & even the Ethereum Blockchain we can implement anonymous CNHV miners in just one short script. There are some CPUminer-Multi forks (https://GitHub.com/cpuminer-multi) that can run in one line of code. While they still require at a minimum of 2 lines of script, one separate from the other, to implement & run. Obviously CNHV is the best option to be used as hacker & ransomware defense. If we set up a McAfee Sentinel to perform http or deep console injections of CPUminer-multi forked miners we could insert Zombie style miners that restart after rebooting the infected devices, even if the process was stopped previously by user, admin, firewall & antivirus systems.

Many crypto miners do not like Thread Mining for their low hash rates but what if we used thread mining to fight back against the attackers?
