-Keeping a Yorkie

Yorkies make a great member of a family. They love to be in warm places. A Yorkie should be given water and walked everyday.Since a Yorkie has a long, beautiful coat, it should be bathed and trimmed a couple times a month. One very important thing is to be given shots at the vet to be protected from diseases such as distemper and hepatitis etc.

-Feeding a Yorkie

Like all dogs, Yorkies love meat. Yorkies  need a very balanced diet. Dry or canned food will give it enough nutrition. Whenever  you buy a Yorkie, ask the seller what it was eating and continue that diet. A small puppy will need to be fed 5 to 6 times a day. When it finally becomes 1 year old, 1 meal would be enough. A Yorkie should be exercised at least 1 time a day, so they won't gain weigh. Also, a Yorkie should have cold, clean water like normal dogs do.

-Thing a Yorkie need

A dog needs a quiet place to sleep. A corner is a great place to sleep. Yorkies should be kept indoors for safety. Since their small, and have a neat coat,  a Yorkie shouldn't be kept in the rain outdoors. Yorkies love being outdoor and exploring the world outside. They should always have a collar with important information so they won't be lost forever or be taken by someone else.

-A hero dog

In world war II, a Yorkie named smoky is credited for saving the live of soldiers by dragging a communication cable through a 8 inch-wide and 160 foot-long drainage culvert. She is also thought t be the world's first therapy dog. Visiting wounded soldiers in hospitals. Smoky was found by a American soldier in papua guinea jungle, and brought back the little dog to barracks.(from akc.org)
