Hello there. This blog post is about me giving some tips on how to make commuting suck less. As a Toronto resident commuting is a daily chore where getting around the city can be slow and annoying. This news article has a claim where Toronto ranks 6th worst in the world for commuting. I am not sure if I fully agree with the claim with rank number six but I do know that traffic is bad on the Toronto highways. Our public transit is also sub-par compared to more established metro systems in Germany, Austria, France, China, Japan and South Korea.
With that being said, here are my tips on making commuting suck less.
For Car Drivers
Drivers are strongly discouraged from using phones while driving. An alternative to using your phone is hands free calling gear. To beat boredom you can use podcasts, music, radio and/or language learning audio to fill up silence and get through slow traffic.
It is recommended to have some alternate routes to avoid slow traffic, rush hour or even crashed cars.

What I Do In My Commutes
I currently use the Toronto bus and subway system. To make my commute suck less I do music, books from time to time, snacking and watch saved Youtube videos on computer programming. Commute times can be productive for me as I can sit in the subway train and learn programming. Part of the subway system is outside so I can use my phone's data plan to watch Youtube videos such as the ones on @marketreport.
