The Silent Profiteers - NGOs

Wars are catastrophic, senseless and myopic conflicts that expand to affect a whole nation or more. That is not all though, as wars are also quite lucrative business carried out by organizations with vested interests to serving their own goals.

Of these, the most popular profiteers of wars are the Arms Suppliers to various nations. That said, it extends to several departments covering more than just trade. One of the less conspicuous profiteers from wars are organizations erstwhile believed to be very important in its prevention.

They come in the form of voluntary organizations, mostly originating from outside the country of interest with a claim to solving a problem that reduces the devastating effects. Noble as their intentions may be, the integrity of these organizations have been put to test severally…which they have failed to live up to expectations.

It is believed that some Organizations inadvertently hope for more disasters because they profit so much from them. Several factors make the suspicions and distrust surrounding NGOs a lot more credible.

Nearly all have entrenched bureaucracies. Their officials are highly paid. Their operating rules are secret. Their financing sources and amounts are undisclosed. They mostly come from domestic or foreign nations whose interests they serve. As agents, they perform PR, intelligence, and population control. Most don't provide humanitarian services.

They all claim non-profit status, yet operate unethically. They collude with governments or business interests. Their profiteer handsomely, own unrelated businesses, and exploit people they claim to serve.

Despite all the millions that come their way, those whose lives should be made better by such sums rarely receive such dues. You get the feeling that a lot more NGOs will so be know as self satisfying Shams.
