People often talk about fear. Things they fear about. Things that scare and frighten them. Everybody has a fear (or multiple fears), and trust me its pretty natural, and the ones too masculine to accept it, say they are fearless.
So basically, what is fear?
Fear is a form of emotion. Or a combination of emotions- worry, anger, frustration, perturbed. Dont believe me? Please do.
Fear is when little you gets lost in the supermarket looking for your mom.
Fear is when the lights go out and you are surrounded by complete darkness.
Fear is when someone close to you is holding on to their dear life. Fear, when you think about the worst case scenarios of them leaving you.
It is that very fear that consumes you, surrounds you with a dark aura and negative thoughts and destruction.
So how to get over the fear? Its simple- YOU CANT. Having fear is what defines you as a person, a being, a homo sapien. Its natural, and is what makes you normal.
But, never hold on to that fear. Let it go, Believe in something- Keep your hopes up high, and never ever back down.
For this world is a cruel but a beautiful, lovely place. Stay positive even if you’re let down.
Love, and let love. And if you find love? Never let it slip away. Embrace it. Welcome it. And smile. Because all it takes, is a beautiful smile.
Oh and fear- What Fear? (wink)
I sadly feel like a vast majority of people really misunderstand fear, what it is, and what it does. In or distant past it kept us alive, in our not so distant past we learned overcoming fear helped us flourish and explore, and today what does fear do? Anxiety seems to be on the rise. Fear mongering used to manipulate populations. Cops and others fearing for their lives, because of uncertainty or hearing things they dislike.
Flight or Fight
Fear is the result of flight or fight responses. During this reaction. The brain is forcing oxygen into the arms and legs, since when you are threatened you don't need the computing power. You need raw power.
The positive side to this is in the superhuman stories you hear. One person lifting a car to save a kid. Teachers who shield children from bullets in a moment's notice.
Like most things (look up Polarity and Dualism) there are negative side effects. We need the computing power, and in a constant state of fear or anxiety we lose that. We lose our ability to truly reason. To not only see alternatives, but also not seek them.
Great post! I often wonder how much general anxiety ties to flight or fight in the modern world? Do you think you'll be posting more in-depth articles on fear responses, or do you have any interesting links or articles to it?
