1967: Nebramycin and then Tobramycin in 1971.

1980: Fusidic acid, first gel for eye.

1988: Norfloxacin, first Quinolone.

1990: Ofloxacin & Ciprofloxacin became available as eye drop.

2000: Lomefloxacin, Levofloxacin, Gatifloxacin, Moxifloxacin & finally in 2009, Besifloxacin.

1948: Cortisone was used for first time as an Anti-inflammatory eye drop. image
