Robots are going to steal your job and then kill you

TERMINATION IMMANENT!

Seriously though, watch this video from CPGrey. MANY jobs are at risk, but it's not just labor that's being replaced. It's HUMAN CREATIVITY & INTELLIGENCE. Once those things are automated, there's no more jobs pyramid to climb on top of.

Now take a look at the Wells Fargo theft that happened this week. Millions of fake accounts to pump up the sales numbers of bank tellers. The Incentive schema for bank employees is to maximize the number of active accounts, to avoid being fired.

Similarly, other incentive structures in our economy have near ZERO regard human health and prosperity. Consumer spending power won't matter either, since B2B is the fastest growing market segment right now. The future looks bleak - a bunch of autonomous corporations spamming each other for an attention-based-currency.

Steemit seems like it might break this mold, but I think it enforces it. Only sensationalist titles recieve enough upvotes to catch whales, and curator bots claim most of the curation points. There's no quantifiable measure of quality OR community value.  The incentive structure of Steemit is entirely focused on grabbing people's attention.

Reddit, Facebook, and other platforms are all equally guilty. My biggest fear of course, is what this means for the future.

Click bait will destroy us all...

I fear that in the end, we won't be murdered by death robots like terminator. Instead, corporations will become automated machines to serve the rentier capitalists, who lobby politicians to pass laws that enforce monopoly.

The Socialists will blame business, the Libertarians will blame Government, and the Corporate Monarchists will jump back and forth, using this conflict to concentrate their power even further. Then they will murder the underclass with the casus belli of escalating interest rates and no product value for human life.

So, welcome to the future. You're all F#cked.

finally progress gona destroy humanity

Not if you are an artist.

Prisma, Deep-dream? There's plenty of art and music that gets generated by machines. It's not all good, but it's progressing, and it will start to move really fast before too long. Look at all of the CGI in Hollywood - artists are overworked but still can't produce fast enough - faster/better/automated animation tools are the natural end-goal.

Anywhere there's a market opportunity, there will be an AI to fill a niche. Even "True Art" in the sense of a refined real evocative installation - is probably going to be figured out by a hard-AI in a few decades or less.

Art is a feeling, robots only copy and paste.

"There's no quantifiable measure of quality OR community value. The incentive structure of Steemit is entirely focused on grabbing people's attention."

Yup... sadly... that's how many people curate as well and jump on the popularity bandwagon...

I the end, in society, on Steemit, it comes down to people and their consciousness that directs them to act in certain ways. People are loath to think and improve their quality of thinking to better themselves, the platform, and the world. I do a lot of work on this. I create quality content.

Good luck to us all who want to make Steemit a success, it all depends on us, the community.

All of my well composed quality pieces earn like 1-2 upvotes.

Every time I grab a Clickbait article on facebook, copy the pictures, and retype the stories - BOOM, a few dozen votes.

I can't decide if I want to write at a 3rd grade level just for the cash, or if I should stick to my guns and write my book and go to a normal publisher.
