The world says to love yourself, but Jesus says to put others before yourself.
Jesus also said: "Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life." (John 12:25)
Its a stark contrast to our world's way of thinking and what they promote. Also no offense to you by sharing this, just a different point of view and something to think about in a world that is headed in a down the wide path of the self that leads to destruction.
