So while I have internet access I thought I'd tell you all what I've been doing.

Some friends of mine in PA are letting me stay in their RV until the first week of August or so.

While there, I've put a new fire pit in.

I'm also repurposing some pavers into a half-walkway from the driveway, one path goes to the deck, the other to the firepit.

It's been sweltering hot out here, which I wouldn't mind except the humidity has also been godawful. I've regained my tan though, so that's a bonus.

So in the time from writing that first part and this next part about four hours have passed

So what I was going to bring up next was my dog. I love my dog, and he's been very sick off and on for the last year. Recently, I took him to the vet (with the help of @caladium, who sent me SBD so I could have him looked at) and they found severe infections in both ears and a severe bacterial infection in his lymph nodes. With the help of some very kind and understanding vets, he got the medication he needed and he recently finished his two week course of high dose antibiotics. He's still not eating though, and he tires way too easily. He dry heaves at night, never vomiting.

With several hours of Google research it seems to point to a heartworm infection. That's bad, but really of all the other things it could be that's the best of them. So to confirm this he needs two tests done, an antigen test and a blood test. Both are required in case of a false negative, which is apparently an often enough occurrence that they always do both tests.

The cost of these tests and the visit comes to about $96, of which, I had about twelve.

hang in there, things get worse, and then amazingly better

So driving back to the RV, I do a rolling stop at a stop sign. I see the cop car parked, and see the brake lights for up and I know I'm about to get pulled over. So I pull over to the municipal building nearby, and give the cops my paperwork (sans license, as I didn't have it on me) they look me up in the computer and ask about how I'm doing.

I told them the truth. I'm practically living in my van, I'm staying at a friends RV while I do some work for them, I'm worried about my dog. All of it.

They let me know my license is suspended for a traffic citation that directly led to me getting my van and I had thought I had been let go with a warning. Maybe a ticket was in there. nope.

So I prepare for them to have my van taken away, but they let me go with a warning and straightforward instructions on how to get the suspension taken care of. Good guys those cops.

So, here I am in the camper trying to get to sleep while worried about getting the cash together to get my dog tested, thankful that I hadn't lost my only mode of transportation. I hear a knock at the RV door and see flashlights.

at this point I'm very confused. I figure the cops are checking to make sure I wasn't lying about where I was staying.

Nope again.
They hand me $100 and refuse to give me their names. So that I can have my dog checked out!

So tomorrow I can make an appointment at Coops' vet for him, and I really want to thank those PA state troopers. You guys have taken a big load off my immediate troubles, and while if those tests come back positive there will still be a big bill to pay, this hurdle is taken care of.

So me and by buddy Coop thank you! From the bottom of my heart.

I wish you had given me your names, but you didn't. So thank you to all the state troopers out there.

I did not expect my day to go like this.
